ParticipantMaseratis suck very slow and overpriced cars. My BMW M3 smokes them.
Now give me a Lamborghini Murcielago or Ferrari F430 Scuderia!

ParticipantI drove the AMG model (GLA45 AMG) which is a blast to drive and if I was looking for a car with room that would be a top contender!

ParticipantWell I am seeing a lot more Chinese in San Diego renting and buying places in group tours than just a few years ago. I will preface my thoughts that I have no issues with them as I do have friends from China and Asia but the problem is lack of common sense with overpaying real estate prices. I was telling my buddy the other day that I can buy a home outside of coastal areas for under 500K and a nice sailboat with a live aboard slip for a fraction of coastal real estate and have a better experience being in a big place and have water recreation.

ParticipantNope I don’t just stating root cause of price bubble that is all. The Japs did the same thing in the 1980s and look how well that turned out.

ParticipantChinese are invading California and driving up real estate prices. Saw it in bay area, and Orange County now they are destroying San Diego with suitcases of cash. It is the corruption sewage from Red China.

ParticipantIt’s been wicked hot 91 past few days here in Point Loma! I bought portable AC unit with dehumidifier since it’s super humid as well. So now much better. I’m wondering how much more of this insane heat we will get until things cool off.

ParticipantMy pick would be the island of Roatan in Honduras. Fantastic scuba diving, fishing and sailing.

ParticipantIt is until the funny Chinese money runs out. When I lived in the bay area, open houses were 99% dominated by Chinese and Indians. I moved due to much higher living costs than San Diego and lower quality of life. Bay area where I rented in Mountain View was not bad but my neighbors were constantly always working six days a week or busy with kids.
In San Diego I pay 2K less than bay area and people are more laid back. Traffic is just as bad now though here as it is in the bay area but fortunately I don’t have to drive that much in it.

ParticipantSince I’m single and can retire anyplace I’ve considered coastal Chile, southern France, Spain, Italy and the Caribbean. I might keep a sailboat in the Caribbean and a small coastal villa in the Med when the time comes.

ParticipantThat’s why I’m considering retirement outside of San Diego most likely Nevada or Oregon if I don’t stay in California. I’m also considering Florida as having an airpark home near Travolta would be pretty cool and close to Caribbean.

ParticipantThat’s why I moved back to San Diego after losing my tech job. It’s cheaper living here than pissing money away on rent and nicer place to live than the overcrowded overpriced Bay Area. Plus people on the whole are more easy going than work money obsessed greedy people in Bay Area.
mixxalot
ParticipantTrue and since I am fluent in Spanish it’s a possible way to afford ocean front living.

ParticipantRents have not gone up much for apartments since I moved back. If you think San Diego is bad try the Bay Area which is just nuts!
