LOL, I wanted to withhold judgement when I saw that they were using WP on that site. However that was the first thing that I suspected.
I find it funny how ‘web designers’ can sell their clients basically what amounts to slightly modified free wordpress templates and call it ‘custom web development’.
When I built a website for a buddy of mine a few years ago, I did it from scratch. I hand coded all the pages. I even built all the widget images. It’s a simple site but it’s very effective and has resulted in him getting alot of new business. A few years later he said he needed another site built and he had another guy who was going to do it for half of what I charged. The guy used a barely modified WP template and called it good.
I called my friend and told him that he got ripped off. I would have downloaded and installed a WP template for him for FREE if he’d said that was what he wanted.
