ParticipantWhy would a fiscal conservative vote for Republicans when they spend more money than Democrats?
Because Democrats would spend even more?
Note that the state of CA is run by Democrats, which largely explains our $19 billion deficit.
In any event, we’ll see. Come November, if Obama wins and there is a D majority in congress with a D president, we’ll see how fiscally conservative you folks are and how little the government grows under your tutelage.
I predict that there will be excuses aplenty in a year or so…

ParticipantOh, and now I am quite scared of HOA. Not just the fee..but the rules too. If I were to buy place, will I be also member of the HOA? Do I have a saying on what should or shouldnt be add as a rule? It shouds like HOA is more strict and scary than apartment leasing office.
Ohhhh yeah. You’ll be a ‘member’ whether you like it or not. And unless you get on the HOA board, you don’t have any say what the rules are (and even then you’d have to convince the others).
This is one of the reasons I bought a SFR in an older community–I couldn’t stand the thought of some micromanaging idiot with more time than sense and a napolean complex sitting on my HOA board and making everyone’s life miserable, especially mine; this is exactly what happened to a friend of mine up in CV–and the guy was his next door neighbor (ugh!).

ParticipantThe senate is having so much trouble running their own dining room (they’ve been in the red for years) that they are being forced to either get an emergency infusion of cash or outsource its operation.
These are the same people you want to run your healthcare system?

Participantthe Vespa’s are a little more pricey than the Kycos or Buddy scooters
Yeah, like twice as expensive.
The Vespa’s run $5k-6kish and the Kycos are about $3k (at least the ones I’m interested in).
I think with Vespa you are paying the name premium more than anything. They are like the Prada of scooters.
