Is clairmont a good area to live in? I have a friend who rents a house there for $1600 a month, not anything I’d live in (kinda run down) but the street is very peaceful.
There are good areas of Clairmont and there are definitely bad areas of Clairmont. I have several friends who live up there and they’ve noticed quite an increase in crime over the last 10 years. Most of the nicer areas of Clairmont have historically been the “Mt’s”: streets such as Mt. Alifan.
For that much money, you could probably rent a house in Grantville/Allied Gardens (the neighborhood that I live in). It is much more consistent than Clairmont.

What about the area? THe saleslady tells me it’s in the college area? Is that area safe? I’m a professional and don’t want to live anywhere shady or trashy with a high crime rate.
The area around SDSU has a VERY high crime rate. The area you are talking about borders on what I would call “the hood”. Personally, I wouldn’t even rent anything in that part of town, let alone buy anything…but that’s just me.

Hey, it’s the label the author gave it in his blog, not mine. Draw your own conclusions….

ParticipantWhite privilege is being able to write crap like that for a living and then being touted as an ‘anti-racism’ author.
Give me a freaking break. He’d have more credibility if he applied his brush EVENLY across the political spectrum rather than using race as a pretext for slamming the Republican ticket.
Simply sickening….
