ParticipantJust got done reading this whole thread, wow, pretty funny. Paddyoh, I suggest you not work for GM advertising if you want your beloved company to survive. Just my opinion for what it’s worth, YOU are the one who comes off Un-American. You sound like the new socialist Americans I’m seeing more and more these days. You sound like a bully, and an arrogant and angry one at that. You can’t seem to take honest criticism against yourself or your beloved GM.
Take my anonymous Internet opinion for what it’s worth, but you’re doing more damage than good. If I wasn’t a rational person, I’d skip GM products just to spite people like you. π I’m not though, and just to even my post out a bit, I’ll say that the Z06 and ZR1 are kick ass cars, but I’d still rather have a Ford GT or previous generation ACR if buying American. Of course, what I really want is a mint F40.

Participant
Let’s not forget the horror stories at those 15 minute instant oil change/lube places (won’t name names)…Some stories of junior techs accidentally pushing the wrong button and filling the engine with it tranny oil instead of engine oil, or vice versa…Or overfilling the engine with so much oil the engine ends up seizing.
I would NEVER, EVER take my car to Sears or one of those “quicky” shops. I had a friend who worked at one of those places and he literally had a horror story every week. Punctured gas tanks, cars not driven properly onto a ramp, and falling off, nuts, bolts, filters tightened too much and stripping it, etc, etc. They really do hire inexperienced mechanics and train them on the spot. Your car is the test bed. I don’t think most people would let an untrained newly graduated barber cut your hair, why skimp on a few bucks for an oil change and let someone mess with your +$10k car. I don’t live near shopping centers or work. A down car would cost me dearly. BTW, I change my own oil. It’s such a simple process that I’d rather make sure it’s done properly.

Participant
Screw the lakers (for now). Who’s watched the 24 Hours of Le Mans? The Peugeot diesels kicked the R15 ass, dethroning the 5 year reign which was a pretty big surprise (6+ laps)… Today is a sad day. On a side note, perhaps with all the disgruntled F1 teams, perhaps some of them will cross over to this league…
Oh never mind, we just watch Nascar and Indy here :)
flu, to be fair, one of the R15s did have a crash, and the other was taken out of commission as well. I’m glad Peugeot won though. Audi and the Corvettes deserve a lot of respect, but the races were getting boring when you knew the results ahead of time.
Too bad for the Astons; they look great in Gulf livery. Ferrari has been doing very well with the F430s too.
Finally, LOL at the one-lap-Lamborghini.
