Participant
Yesterday I drove by the Costco in Vista and there were crazy long lines both in the parking lot and lines carrying into the street (in 2 separate areas) for gas. Gas was $3.83. Just down the road on Plaza at ARCO it was…….$3.83. Seriously, I just don’t get the Costco sheep. Even if another station was a few cents more was it really worth the time in line on your weekend? Why do people just get in that line and assume it’s the best price?
P.S. I hope they killed the engine while they were waiting but I kinda doubt most did.
I don’t go to ARCO because they don’t take credit cards. I get cash back when I use my credit card and I’m sure that almost everyone else in that Costco gas line was getting some kind of kickback as well. So in this case, the Costco gas was still cheaper than ARCO’s. Not sure if I would have waited in line, though.

ParticipantI’m also thinking about investing in Riverside rental properties. My basic idea would be to buy a fixer-upper in cash. Do some basic improvements, then rent it out. However, I would like to pull equity out of the house as soon as possible so that I can use the money to buy another property.
Anyone know how soon I could do this after getting a renter moved in? Can you think of any problems I might run into trying to do this?
