ParticipantAm I older than you are jg?! Funny, because before I realized your name stood for ‘J’ust ‘G’oofing – I had always thought it stood for “Judgemental Grandpa”.

ParticipantI am a native. Born in ’67. Lived in RSF, Solana Beach and Coronado all of my life (with a few years abroad in different countries). When deciding to ‘settle’ … this bubble sent us packing. We live in upstate NY now.

ParticipantRustico-
I LOVED LOVED LOVED your sharing your story. I do believe that we learn most in times of adversity. Now I can understand how you became the philosopher that you are. I love your writings.
Have you published anything? Ever considered it?
I read A LOT, and you writing style is sufficiently unusual, and pleasant, and complicated, that i believe you could really have a slam-dunk book (on a topic of interest to you).

ParticipantThank you LostKitty! You have faith and you (like Rustico) have stuck up for me (again). If all Religious people were like you, I don't think I would be such an angry guy!
No Cyphire, I am not one bit religious! : ) I just think the stories in the bible are nice to teach little (3-7 years old) children about how the treat others, and I believe that Christ actually lived and preached, and was some kind of AMAZING philosopher (like our friend Rustico!). I have no faith in the afterworld, or underworld, or any other "force" besides that of nature and nurture.
I sure hope you guys stick around a while. Before, it was only PerryChase, and powayseller who argued from a more liberal perspective. A few others would jump in occasionally, but havent heard them lately.

Participant"I didn't see nearly the amount of insults coming from jg… "
HA HA HA HA HA ho ho ho ho Hahahaha – that's a HILARIOUS statement hipmatt. Must be sarcastic, because it certainly isnt based on fact.
READ MORE CAREFULLY. It is always jg starting these things. He puts out so many lures and nasty-gram postings, that most go by without being responded to… Like his one about the Greatest Generation producing mostly horrible off-spring, like "hippies", etc. Anyone care to converse on that one with him…? He's probably still waiting for a response. Fun! : )
I could fill a book with his one-liner baiting over the last year. Remember hipmatt, jg (JustGoofing) says this is all for "fun". He's just throwing "red meat" to the "libs".
Finally, cyphire's use of the words and phrases "blessed" and "son of God" have nothing to do with him actually being Christian. He is using the common, popular vernacular for discussion's sake.

Participant"But a non-speculative-market state (Ohio) currently has the highest foreclosure rate ever recorded in U.S history."
The way I see it, if there was a great salesman of subprime mortgages in an area (see: http://piggington.com/subprime_loans_made?size=_original ), with another link to get them in (like the Temecula guys did at their church), coupled with layoffs or other changes to the local economy, then we will see huge foreclosures.
California unfortunately has all of those, and an economy that was largely growing BECAUSE of the real estate increases.
I agree that "people all over the country should know by now that the market is in a downward trend".. it is just that some places have not much falling to do. The pain will not be as severe. Just my opinion as I sit and watch the inventories stay relatively mellow, sales & prices as well. Same old same old around here.

ParticipantOh come on… Did you find this at the theonion.com!?!
Still cracks me up. It is that photo that gets me…. arms all raised as they face the real estate charts.

True dat. I watch the zips near me (upstate NY) as closely as I do those in San Diego. In the nearest city and surrounding zips, there is only one with any bubble-looking inventory. Lo and behold, it is the same town where two guys were convicted of mortgage fraud last month.
I think some areas didnt jump into the gambling-on-real-estate activity. These non-carbonated areas may still fall somewhat, but there is no great fear for the residents. I can see them answering the polls as the majority did. really, prices are so low here, how much further could they fall?
