It was a SANDAG project. You know, that agency in San Diego that has a $350 million dollar annual operating budget and doesn’t operate anything but staff. The same agency that is going to a flex schedule where the have every other monday off, the same agency that has a guy named Gary running the show that probably shouldn’t be running a Burger King.
Recall Prop 42 and Disband SANDAG…. If anything, give the money to MTS so they can stop cutting service and start adding commuter serices so normal people can right transit here.

The voters approved the transnet sales tax a coulpe of years ago, but the majority of that funding is going to hwy and capital construction, none to operations. San Fran and L.A. both have a full cent dedicated to transit operations. Although L.A. too sprawled to serve, S.F. (more like S.D.) is served great and everyone with a car has an option.
All great cities have a great public transit system. Look around the world.. Improve it here, and San Diego’s will be great.
