ParticipantThanks Sd Realtor, again I appreciate your input. I know everyone(including myself) is bitter about the housing prices around here. I for one am worried about the next generation- my kids- an their shot at the “American Dream”.
My realtor told me lenders are doing things differently. It doesn’t make sense to me but he said they are taking one income JUST for the house payment alone and whatever else they make… I didn’t understand this, but that meant to me my kids will have to be 2 a income family or there will be no home of their OWN. I can’t see how this can last.
“4 – Solicit feedback from those who visited. It is unlikely this will help much but it cannot hurt. If you change the price then make sure your realtor contacts those who came by. ”
That’s funny you say that because my agent is very repetitive about that he’ll “be calling on Thursday” with this very information. I kinda joke with my husband about it(him saying it over and over).

Actually my price is the best around for the neighborhood. Nothing close, so people who know the area will find mine a real deal-in comparison to the others- however high the asking price may seem, and I will deal if I need to.

Participant“She’s stuccoed”, would imply I have to sell, I WANT to sell because I want more for my money. I am not sure where I will end up because my husband is retiring and going to shoot his applications out and see what is the best job/area for the money etc…….
Good luck, we will see how it goes,…….ttfn

ParticipantIt’s a 1972 SFR in east county, 3b/2ba 2 car with (a parking lot) RV parking. All newer dual pane windows, sprinklers, elementary(GATE Magnet) and high school within a few blocks walk. It is a sought after neighborhood around here due to the elementary school.
Lot’s of parks and lakes(plural)and golf course, within walking distance. It’s within a minute to freeways and 18 minutes to downtown, less than 15 to La Jolla. The main draw back would be the cheap construction of the 1970’s.
Bought in 1995 for 119k, it is listed in the lower 400’s and took a lot of money out to fix the place up as it was a fixer, we also put on an addition. So we owe alot more than we did. We want to put the money away, wait until houses drop and purchase another, however we are not sure where we will go due to my husband retiring from the military in the next year or two.
