Participant“It is probably too soon to see from our database what effect the sub-prime fiasco has had on sales of apartment properties. And of course one has difficulty, from a distance, knowing how many proposed sales may have fallen through for lack of available financing.”
I thought it was interesting they mention the “subp-rime fiasco”. This is a realestate information organization of some sort. I am not exactly sure their whole purpose, but, they measure rental facts and disseminate information for landlords and such.

ParticipantI believe the houses you are describing are manufactured homes on land that you get a 99 year lease for. They are out in the Flynn Springs area and are by no means any kind of deal unless you HAVE had to rent. Now though, this shouldn’t be the case because of the current housing market tanking.
Houses in the El Cajon area are priced at approximately the same amounts found in Temecula……….though they tend to be alot older.

Participant“Did anyone say “wow housing is a great buy, I think we should buy”? ”
3things I kinda remember:
1) News shows commenting on early 90’s being a buyers market
alot2) People you would talk to would comment on how it was cheeper to buy than rent
3)My brother bought his first house in ’89
My brother bought 2 in ’05! When he buys, I am thinkin’ sell sell sell!
