November 14, 2006 at 1:35 PM in reply to: Has a political post on here ever changed anyone’s mind? #39963lindismithParticipant
ZK I’m in your camp, but yeah, I’m really interested in meeting Jg and PD! Funny how that is sometimes!
And, just to clarify, the meeting’s at 5:30 now. There is something going on at the restaurant prior, so we moved it back a little.
I really encourage all of you to come. Everyone is very different in person, and in a very positive way! I think email/The Internet/Blogs being what they are, one always read’s one’s own point of view/perspective into the tone of a post, and when you actually meet people in-person, it’s a totally different experience!
lindismithParticipantgold_dredger, love your comments.
Can you expand on your theory above?
Also, if you were in charge, what would your strategy be now?
lindismithParticipantjg, thanks for the info, but all of us on the left are just as well-schooled about Iran.
What we’re still trying to get over is how you guys think you can millitarily install democracy by a foreign power. Last I checked, it’s done by the people themselves. Funny how we all get this, and you guys don’t.
Help me understand how a millitary option could have worked in the middle east? Even now, all of you guys are looking for a millitary exit strategy. Heck, all my Dem friends know that we need an economic exit strategy. If we’d spent $4 billion a month on finding M E fuel alternatives for the last 6 months alone, we’d have been out of there already!
lindismithParticipantcool!
Meet at:
Today’s Pizza and Salad.
They are off I-5, Santa Fe Exit, on the west side of the freeway in the Vons/Rite Aid shopping center.lindismithParticipantNever mind that it costs $4billion a month – a few $million a minute!
Just think what we could do with that money in education, health-care, new business development, etc etc.
lindismithParticipantPerry, it’s everywhere.
I like to go to Ben’s blog, and just scan the headlines. Sometimes I have time to read his whole post. My reaction is usually shock. Weird, I know since we’ve all been reading about this for over a year, but everyday there’s another negative story, and everyday I am just as shocked, with sometimes a little sadness thrown in, and others, a little amusement. Mostly I come away from an article saying, “Unreal!”
I wonder when I’ll become immune to it?
lindismithParticipantcool, glad you’re coming zk.
jg, I’ll try and not to corrupt your son. π
Am still looking for graphic artist help. Just need someone to help me get the slogans into printer-ready format. Anyone?
Rich suggested using Cafe Press, so we can all order individually, and he doesn’t have to worry about fulfillment and a shopping cart etc. It’s a good idea, because then the Tees say whatever we want – God and Data, or not, for all the atheists! But, we still need to upload the art….
lindismithParticipantI’m in!
If there is a Piggington, who can work in Photoshop etc., can you please email me at [email protected]? I need your graphic artist help for about 20-40 mins. It’s for the Piggington tee-shirt.
I need a mock-up to show the printer (and we can post it here too for a sneak peek,) and we’ll also need print-ready art.
There is no payment. However, you get to add the very prestigious Piggington site to your list of clients!
Thanks in advance!
November 6, 2006 at 1:50 PM in reply to: 4S Ranch feels like Curry Campground to me. Anyone else? #39316lindismithParticipantThe Curry part threw me too!
I googled it, and found that’s the name of the public campground in Yosemite – with the bell tents, and the chalets – sort of Disneyland-meets-Thomas-Kinkaid-look. (read schlock.)
lindismithParticipantOnly 164? Weird, but that seems low.
I don’t know why, but I thought it would be a bigger number.
lindismithParticipantJust a friendly reminder that we’re still on for 11/18.
Same place as last time. (See above.)
I took some time off to go to Tanzania and climb Kilimanjaro, so I have not looked into the t-shirts. I will do that this week.
In the meantime, it would be good if we could have a few more votes on the slogan… π (See link above to yahoo group.)
lindismithParticipantHuge loss!
I wish there was a way to do a keyword search on Zip for, “short”. I think we’d be staggered at the results.
I guess this might be the area sdrealtor was talking about when he said there were some condos coming online that made sense to buy? I’d say that condo, (isn’t it really still an aparment?) could easily be rented for $800/month.
lindismithParticipantGold_Dredger – what part of town are you in?
lindismithParticipantRich has explained it as a caching problem, whereby your computer ‘helpfully’ remembers what the page should look like, and unhelpfully forgets to show the link to post a reply.
He suggested hitting the refresh button on your browser, which sometimes works for me, and sometimes doesn’t. I hit it numerous times, and then finally it does work.
If you really can’t get in, the go up to Tools and clear your cache. Then hit refresh.
