ParticipantI wish they would speed the 5 expansion process/ toss dollars at it.. The 15 expansion has resulted in lightened traffic, the 5 needs the same expansion just as bad.

Participant

just curious – how many families making $100K or more are interested in living in the $400K Clairemont house?
The parts of Clairemont that you can see from the major roads are not so nice, and there are areas to avoid, but the comment that “most of the area is ghetto” is not one borne from in-depth knowledge of the area.
I made the ghetto comment. For families with children, clairemont has a high concentration of “offenders” although the area north of University/ south of the 8 is super concentrated. Look to the CV/ RB/ Carlsbad areas – much less. http://www.familywatchdog.us/
Yes there are nice pockets in each zipcode – nice pockets of north park, golden hill, kensington etc.. but those crime maps dont give clairemont a glowing image.
Like I said, the location is excellent. Find te worst home on a nice street with nice homes and pride of ownership – diamond in the rough..

ParticipantThe location of clairmont is great. Maybe in the next bubble a bunch of builder will come in and buy out all the crappy properties and build new homes on the premium lots.
Until then, most of the area is ghetto.
