Participant
There is nothing in the budget that gets to the root cause of the problem, which is that the State of California overspent when times were good and has no mechanism to rachet down spending when times are tough. Our legislature is at fault, both the Republicans and Democrats. The State simply is incapable of living within it’s means.
No, the root of the problem is rich people and small business owners employing illegal immigrants are over-burdening our social services while also depriving them of revenue.
Hence my suggestion of leaving the state. Once the deadbeat tax-protester small business owners leave, so will the illegal labor.

If we all move, there will be noone left to pay your state funded salary there big guy. Seems you have a conflict of interest when it comes to state taxes seeing as you are suckling off the government tit.
Most of my salary is via grants, both from the Federal Gov. and private sector. And as students are overhead, we can always cut enrollment or raise fees to make up a budget shortfall.
Again, if you don’t want to pay the admission fee, leave the park. No one is keeping you here.

Granted, this is a simplification and taxes aren’t the only variable in the equation here, but how does the tax cut crowd reconcile this discrepancy? They believe that tax cuts are the answer, yet they have 16 years of evidence to the contrary looking them straight in the eye.
You are making the mistake that they are doing anything other than parroting their neo-con puppet-masters. There is no thought process here.
Taxation isn’t theft. Its the price we all pay for enjoying the benefits of a stable society. In fact, *not* paying taxes (or hiring undocumented workers) *is* theft, as your stealing services from those that have paid into the system.
If you don’t like CA taxes, move. Please. And take your crappy taco stand with you.
