Participant
You are probably one of those that railed against prop 187 aren’t you?
I didn’t live in CA at the time, but I would have supported it had I did.
How about a deal; I’ll stop mentioning the burden that illegal immigration puts on social services when the businesses that *profit* from it stop complaining about high taxes.

Participant
Let’s remember that CA’s teachers are the highest paid in the nation, on average. Even higher cost-of-living states on the East Coast pay less.
Admittedly, their job here is tougher because our average class sizes are well above the nation’s average (that is why our overall k – 12 education spending is in about the middle compared to other states).
And if the private sector stops exploiting illegal labor, there will be less of a burden on social services to support their extended families.
Quid pro quo, Clarice.

Participant
He’s fluent in spanish, his doctor, dentist, etc. are all in Mexico, so he personally has almost no traceable ties to CA. And pays zero in CA income taxes, of course. It’s a pretty sweet scam.
Exactly, the guy is a thief. At least the raise in sales taxes will hit grifters like this when they go to the supermarket.
Btw, how does he get around property taxes?
