ParticipantThose houses on Avenida Kirjah have been on the market for at least a year. Some developer built huge houses on a cul-de-sac next to some 1970s homes and then tried to sell them for up to $3.5M. I think they managed to sell 2 of them for mid 2s and the rest are still on the market.
Last week a house in Del Mar on Gatun closed for $2.5M. It had originally listed last year for $4.295-$4.495M, and after a few large reductions it finally sold for cash (just a guess since it was only pending for about a week). When ya gotta sell, ya gotta sell…

ParticipantWhen your wife is speaking to you again, it might be nice to discuss the possibility of renting in your target neighborhood. That way, she could make some friends and start settling in your chosen community. While you would still be technically moving twice, it seems to me that moving down the block would be MUCH easier than completely starting over in a new neighborhood. Just an idea.
And I agree with everyone else. Don’t dwell on the one that got away. It sold for $50k more than you bid, but who’s to say that it wouldn’t have gone much higher if you had joined in the bidding war. I have no doubt you will find “the one” and I am looking forward to reading all about it!
