What a coincidence. I bought one of those condos on Caminito La Bar when they were new. Had to camp out to get it (how is that for a blast from the past). It was our first home purchase. We paid about $95,000 for a 2br/2ba plus loft. Even though interest rates were insanely high, our mortgage payment was about $725 a month with a 3% down FHA loan. Before that we had been renting a 1br/1ba in the UCSD area for $695 a month. It was a great first home purchase. I am pretty sure my ex still owns it and rents it out.
