You are literally more likely to be killed by furniture, than a terrorist, in the U.S.
jeff303ParticipantThere is a “Send feedback” link at the bottom of the page. Those who have complaints about the changes, did you reach out to them?

jeff303ParticipantLooks like their integration with Google apps or appliance is broken. In the meantime, you can always go to http://www.google.com, and search that way, with site:piggington.com at the end. Example
jeff303ParticipantInteresting is that a lot of it is driven by AWS, not shopping.

The negative perception might be true for young and impressionable people. But does it really matter if you write SQL queries for Walmart.com or Amazon.com? I personally don’t care. If I’m in server side stuff, I would totally apply, especially with that kind of compensation.
I agree. I would apply here myself if I wasn’t already satisfied with my current role.
I guess I should have made the point more clearly that perception and reality are different, and I’m not arguing that the perception is correct. But it’s undeniable that Wal-Mart has a more negative perception amongst the general population than, say, Amazon (rightly or wrongly). Obviously, people who know how these businesses work or software development happens would realize there is very little difference in the work environments. And people who are a bit more knowledgeable can rightly point out the poor working conditions in Amazon warehouses, etc. But when you talk to your non-technical cousin about where you work, it’s sexier to be able to say “Amazon” than “Wal-Mart”. They’re not stupid; they pay a little more to get the same caliber of developer. And of course, they can afford to, given that they’re a ~$500 billion revenue company.

jeff303Participant
If that’s the case, why now? Why did it take so long?
I don’t know. Better late than never. Probably because it takes a loooong time for a suitable case to be brought and make it all the way to the Supreme Court, and for them to be able to rule on it in a broad way.
Why not grant civil union all the legal and tax benefits as marriage?
Why should we go to the time and massive expense to rewrite millions of laws, rules, instructions, forms, documents, etc.? Sounds like massive government waste to me, for no discernible purpose.
Also, why limit it to just 2 people? I don’t think there are as many supporter for polygamy as same-sex marriage. Is it OK for them to have their rights limited as well?
Why, indeed? You’re probably right about the level of support. As far as I’m concerned though, if the logistics could be worked out, I’d be all for it.
jeff303Participant
Is that the role of the court? Are they there to spare the country from having a debate? If it’s so inevitable, then why not let the people speak instead of having 9 people dictating it?
I support gay marriage, but I don’t support how it came about. I would much rather have the majority open their minds and accept the idea themselves instead of having 9 high and mighty judges dictating it. Just look at the legalization of marijuana as a prime example of how quick things can turn around.
Their role is to ensure the Constitution isn’t violated. That includes, among other things, the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, as well as the Equal Protection Clause. Both of these tenets have clearly been violated by every state that has forbade same-sex marriage (since those individuals were ineligible for legal and tax benefits, among many other things). Therefore, the court finally acted to protect those individuals’ rights. It seems pretty simple to me.

jeff303ParticipantI highly recommend padmapper.com as it shows everything on a map, pulls from multiple data sources, and has great filtering options. That said, I don’t see an explicit filter for “Furnished”, but you could probably put that under Show More Filters/Keywords.
jeff303ParticipantSome possible candidates here for terriblerealestateagentphotos.com
jeff303ParticipantSo he’d prefer more older people are forced to keep working, rather than retire, and that fewer women should choose to be stay-at-home moms? Interesting.
