Participantjpinpb, lol, it isn’t as sweet, probably because the sweet doesn’t linger on the tongue. But it is almost all guilt free. 1/2 cup is 18g carbs, and I max out at 1/2 cup. Oh well, maybe one day he will see how important his health is.

ParticipantThis has no after-taste. The only difference I can tell is that the sweet taste suddenly “ends”, meaning there isn’t that residual sweet aftertaste. But maybe that is only because I was closely examining the taste. This isn’t a low-fat ice cream, so the creaminess is still 100% there. Yummy….drop in some sliced almonds too. π
Let me know how you guys like it!

Participantjpinpb,
Go to Stater Brothers and get Clemmy Ice Cream for your DH and scoop it out and give it to him. Don’t tell him what brand you got or anything. See how he reacts.
That ice cream is made from a sugar-free but natural sweetener which doesn’t spike your insulin levels. There are still carbs in it, but atleast the sugar side-effects won’t be as strong.

Participantbriansd1,
He does recommend no fruit while cutting. But when you reach your goal, he says to add back in 2 fresh fruits a day.
Back in the “caveman” days, eating fruit was a rare delicacy because they really only grow well in the tropics. Yes, they are healthy for you, but yes, they will spike your insulin and cause your system to be signaled to gain weight. Most nutrients can also be had through vegetables.
I see both sides of the issue, and I looooove fruit. But for now, I’ve cut it out while I try to get my six-pack. π
