ParticipantI recommend moving out. To give the landlord a “hard time” with getting lawyers involved, etc. will be just a frustrating waste of time. You are renting and one of the perks of that (under these circumstances)is that you can give notice and move out. Life’s too short to mess with this guy.

ParticipantI agree with the previous post. All of this should be put in writing straight away. There shouldn’t need to be any private discussions about what party wants what. There’s a reason why listing agents don’t spell everything out in writing. It’s usually because there’s something shady going on. If anyone thinks that the real estate business isn’t full of crooked agents, then they’d be dead wrong. Whenever there are commissions to be had, people cheat, lie and steal.

ParticipantThe previous post is correct. The key would be to check out the manufacturer to see if anyone has had problems.
Also, don’t forget that if you have reservations about the buy, you can always back out before you release contingencies.
Try not to stress, things always work out at the same time.
