@james, there are not many jobs left in South OC and those that are still remaining, the salaries have gone down by 20-30%
I messaged my cousin after reading this and he said the same thing. A lot of companies have been moving their operations to TX and AZ. He said he’s lucky he works for a korean company.

jameswennParticipant
I might know only a small portion of the picture but Irvine has large Asian migrants – many people sell homes in their home country and you can buy 2 or 3 of the Irvine homes… because it’s worse kind of bubble in certain Asian market. There might be a lot more paid off homes in Irvine that belongs to these folks.
Nah, most of those ones that come over here come because they have nothing going for them over there. The ones with money like it and stay there.
When i was working in LA, we had a guy that would come up from Mexico to work every week. We asked him why he didn’t relocate and he stated that his wife and kids didn’t want to move to the USA. They eventually moved, but the wife insisted that they keep the place in Mexico in hopes of moving back.

jameswennParticipantPlaces like Irvine aren’t that old. A lot of folks bought there before the huge bubble and have no reason to move. My cousin has a place he bought for 400K, which he thought he overpaid for, and during the height of the bubble, the same models were listed at a million.
There are also a lot of high paying jobs in South OC.
