Annuities are horrible for an investor, but great for the broker. Brokers get a large commission and win vacations. Annuities are basically the Alt-A of investments.

The RE market will continue to decline as far as I can tell in 2009, because REOs continue to climb. People that can make their payments will not sell, but banks will at lower prices. If unemployment continues to climb as RE “professionals” and construction works lose their jobs it will get ugly. People still believe is RE, if they stop believing sales will completely fall off a cliff.

ParticipantI am sure Mozilo told them they would get a good deal, but all mortgage brokers say that. Most of the time that means bend over.
It is just hard to believe that some of those fools would take a bribe for only a few thousand dollars. I thing it just shows how little they really understand the industry they make legislation for.
