ParticipantSuprised they held on this long. Remember Heathkit? This was the beginning of less hands on electronic experimenters. They failed in the ’80’s.
They can’t compete with the big guys selling imported electronic gadgets so be different. Marketing.
Wonder what would have happened if they partnered with schools to have electronic classes and clubs.

ParticipantSeems like the only thing they can understand, Force. Again, sad for the everyday folks living among the nut jobs with the guns.

ParticipantFrankly, I’m getting very tired with every news report showing the barbaric, savage treatment instigated by ISIS combatants. You should too.
They are playing us with these shocking videos. What are the credentials for these Imams and others that issue these ‘scholarly’ interpretations of the Quran. I’m guessing they are the only ones that might be able to at least read. Where are the women’s rights people condoning their treatment of women? Where is the exit plan? Either crush them or come back home.

ParticipantNo. That we did not back down in the face of adversity.
Actually, we did execute prisoners and civilians died in collateral damage. Not publicly, ask any vets.

ParticipantJordan’s King Abdullah’s response is showing the world the backbone we used to have. Sad.

ParticipantI am a fan of some HF tools, I would not get under that one. Quick Jack makes a 5k version. http://www.bendpak.com/Shop-Equipment/QuickJack/
GarageJournal.com forum is a good place to discuss tools. Very manly site!

ParticipantYou come to a point in your life where convenience is worth a premium! This is it! Go for it. My only beef is limited clearance between the wheels. Sliding yourself in sidewise is blocked by lift. They do make a higher cap version but is heavy. Is that outrigger for lateral stability or a handle to move the unit? Seems like a good locking bar for safety.

ParticipantI leaning toward Heloc rate going up. As equity over time builds, this added value banks can make some profit here.
We also have a Presidential election coming up and me thinks positive news ( higher consumer confidence) will bring out the sidelined money which will help raise interest rates. Might even happen faster than we expect.

ParticipantOr, palms.

ParticipantWhat is the condition of the unit? If it will be needing new flooring, repairs, renovation, then I would agree its time to up the rent to beef up your reserves.
If the unit is nice and the tenant has kept it nice, I might lean to not raising rent. If the rent increase pisses them off, maybe they will neglect/abuse things and end up costing you time/$$ when then move out. I guessing the rent delta is about $2k over a couple of years. So after repairs, is it a net gain?
Or, sign a new 2 year lease to keep the rent the same.

ParticipantI think you are going to have trouble getting an external grabbing bolt remover inside the pulley.
My best suggestion is to load the car on a trailer and take it to a TIG welder. The TIG is hot and very precise heat to attach a longer, larger bolt to the damaged one so you can get a big wrench on it from beyond the pulley. A MIG may work, but the guys who have both will use the TIG always.
The added benefit of a TIG is you will thermal cycle the bolt which will help crack it loose.
Before you light up the welder, be sure to disconnect the ECM or any other electronic device. Welders can induce damaging stray high voltage even when the battery is disconnected.
I would not try to hand drill the hardened bolt. If you slip off you will damage the crank. No need to cut up the pulley with the TIG technique.
As you probably know, or tried, these bolts are easier to remove with an impact. Of course hand torque them to install.
Good Luck! I’m impressed you are among the few to tackle wrenching, especially in your neighborhood 😉

ParticipantLike I suggested to Brian, some of you need to spend an evening in a ‘ride a long’ with local cops. It’s free, and will open your eyes. Enough of the knee jerk reaction to cops techniques. Go ahead, try yourself to negotiate with a crazy person. Live and learn. We live with lots of crazy.

I see this cop as no better than a rapist or other street thug.[/quote]And with this, we circle around back to original premise of pre-exisiting bias or reactionary uninformed response–trolling. sorry. good day. out.

ParticipantSensationalism video. No video, no story. Just another day in the life of any city.
If you look closely the initial choke had victims airway in the crook of the cops elbow. Correct method. Hard to see as both the cop had big arms and the victim is large neck. Incorrect or illegal choke would have the arm across the airway resulting in victim passing out.
Once victim was brought to ground, was able to tell cops several time he was not breathing. Hard to do if you indeed are being choked. Video shows only cops hand holding victims head on the ground.
As mentioned, some other medical event happened. Bit of cooperation with the cops can save you life. Then you can sue them later…
Again, without video, no national story.
