Participantthis is really too bad.

Participant“The Economist (a pretty conservative publication)”
seriously!Hobie
ParticipantGood point BG re the SNAP and other programs.
Can’t blame SK for being defensive and name calling in light of the current events surrounding Clinton. And finally, I stand corrected re the cost of energy. I’m looking forward to Detroit blossoming in the near future other than part time and service sector jobs.
And slaves, really?
Hobie
ParticipantDoubt if the wall will get built. eVerify takes care of illegal’s getting jobs and will self deport. Next a change in policy to letting the border patrol do there thing should take care of the rest.
Remember Trump is a good negotiator and my bet is this is simply a giveaway he is saving for later.
His meeting with Mex Pres went very well.

ParticipantNow add in the high cost of energy, EPA regs, unions and yup, we are doomed.
Where will the new jobs be if Hillary get elected?
Hobie
Participant
….These jobs aren’t coming back. Trump can’t bring them back, nobody can bring them back. …..
And why not?

ParticipantDo forums that have that feature tend to retain the higher ranking posters and self select out the low ones?
There seems to be a natural life to forum posters in general not just here. People come and go.
Or, would a bit of moderation be helpful? I know, who has time for that;)
I would like a way to vote for a temp ban on members when posts turn personal or foul language. 3 strikes idea.

ParticipantI too am poking around learning as I want to install solar soon so I know nothing :).
First, the article cited is 2012. Lots have changed since then.
Next, seems strings are better if the whole array sees same amount of sun all day. If some shading, then micros can tune the array better. Also, being able to ID specific panel problems and performance is a big plus with micros.
Seems each has their place.

ParticipantDon’t ya’ll remember when $2 Chuck first introduced everyone was having dinner party blind tests and it fooled even the snobs.
Always thought it was just a clever marketing gag to introduce people to wine. But all these years later, still going.
Hobie
ParticipantDefinitely not imported wood. Just #2 pine.
I would be very concerned with the fold up legs they advertise. Can’t see that large table being stable with that feature. Normally, legs are bolted for easy removal.
Good call about having it custom made for you.

Participantthis is a no brainer. $ in bank, gainfully employed, pick a location and make a family.
location of condo would be helpful, but not really. if you can swing house+condo+kid go for it.
you are in it for the long game

ParticipantAn anomaly? You are too smart to discount the beginnings of BLM and the implied endorsement they are getting from POTUS. You know this is a major factor.
What flyer says is true. Keep watching the news.
It’s not attractive to take the party line of cops are the problem. I’m sure you would be the first when pulled over, to cooperate fully with cops demands and sue their ass later.
Much more effective than blocking freeways.

Participant.

Participant

On that note, police recruits are down 90% in some areas, and as things get worse, no doubt there will be more and more early retirements and fewer applicants, so it will be interesting to see how society functions, should we ever get to the point where those in need call and no one answers.
What do you mean by “as things get worse”?
maybe as more cops are being ambushed for one.
