ParticipantSan Diego Reader keeps a pretty good list of places and ads.
I have seen one advertised as the largest in SD on Mira Mesa Blvd It’s called either East or West, (I forget)
There’s another one in PB on Garnet called Great Moon or something…
There is an interesting THAI buffet on Clairemont Mesa (just west of 805) that I have eaten at, it’s around $10
And there are two interesting Greek Buffets,
Greek Town in El Cajon and Zorba’s in Chula Vista. In North County, San Marcos, Vista & Oceanside have them too.
Murrieta has a pretty good Chinese seafood buffet with the best Sushi selection that I have ever seen other than at a Japanese buffet.
The problem with buffets is unless you go when they are busy and food stays fresh, once certian dishes have sat for more than 3-5 minutes, the quality diminishes.
I’ve eaten at Zorba’s for lunch and thought it was great. They were very busy and the food was fresh.

ParticipantThese people have good credit, but may not be able to prove they have enough income to handle the mortgage payment even though they do. The man is no longer in the military. He’s older, retired and he and his wife are on a fixed income.
******************************
Over here, I’m the wacko that DOESN’T look the other way.You are a mortgage person’s nightmare.
These are the situations that a helpful person says I CAN DO THAT LOAN, and 4 weeks later is “hemming and hawing” about why they can’t get it done, then everybody gets pissed off.Loans don’t get funded by what people think they can afford. (any more!)
Even with good credit, YOU NEED TO HAVE A JOB.Lender’s don’t lend on assets, they lend on income.
Usually VERIFIED income. In whose opinion do they have enough money to “handle the mortgage payment” yours, theirs or the lender’s ??
Do they have any assets ?A good credit score and $5 will get you some coffee at Starbucks.
IF they can verify their fixed income and can qualify, they can get a loan. They have passive income. It’s probably going to need to be FULL DOC.
They may need to PROVE that they have been getting their income for at laest 2 years and that it is “expected” to continue for at least 3 more years.
If any part of their income is tax free, they may get more credit for that income by “grossing it up”
Do you in fact KNOW that they don’t qualify full doc ?And the last question that I like to ask an “agent” who tells me that they can afford the payment, even though they cannot prove it is…
Are YOU willing to be responsible for their “wacko, look-the-other-way, no down payment loan” if they cannot pay the lender OR do you just want the commission that comes from this transaction with no other obligation ????VA may offer something. A vet deserves the help, (but ONLY if they can REALLY afford it)

I’ve read your post a few times and have no idea what you thought would offend me !! I’ve got tough skin, but thanks. If I was a dirtbag, I sure as heck wouldn’t be public about who I am. As stated above, many people just don’t realize what the truth is when they hear it.
There are PLENTY of unprofessional creeps still in the industry, although many are gone trying their next scam…I’ve seen closing statements that made me sick, esp when they were from a friend or relative of the borrower, who told them it was a great loan.(The commission back from the lender tells me that it wasn’t)
I’m trying to help people if I can. Fact is obvious that millions of people (apparently) didn’t understand the loans that they are in. Others think that they know more than they really do.
I never did hear back from the OP tonight,, I suppose they made up. (Sounds like a love/hate relationship ?)
PLEASE DO MY LOAN AND MAKE MONEY OFF OF ME,,,
No no you are a horrible client, don’t you dare ask for anything,, go away,, Your loan is CANCELLED!
NO… PLEASE take me back,, blah blah blah
(Ray pointed out,, perhaps it was a headache?)But I know that my FAX machine works, I checked. π
Many thanks for the support from those of you that do know me as well as those of you that don’t. Much appreciated.

ParticipantCA, Good comments.
Lots of politicians are lawyers too, and there are plenty of scams by people with lots of degrees and letters after their names.
In any skill or profession, it seems to have a lot to do with one’s parents and how a child is brought up. Having good role models and an ethical upbringing is what matters.
Gotta hope that the baby sitters, nannies and day care providers of today do a good job bringing up other people’s kids these days.
We are breeding a society that doesn’t want to see right from wrong. It’s what is easy and who can they scam for easy money. It’s hard to teach ethics, morals, honesty and integrity.
It’s a lot easier to teach someone to be dishonest and the lure of easy money has its own temptation.
Boiler room scams and dishonest sales people brag about how much they ripped someone off (in many products)A tiny difference on a loan can cost the borrower a bunch. Pushing the rate just a quarter of a point on a $400K loan will cost the borrower about $800 a year or $24,000 over 30 years just so the loan originator could get a $3000 commission from the lender. It isn’t right.
My most favorite quote ever:
“It is hard to believe that a man is telling the truth when you know that you would lie if you were in his place.”
