Participant
Thanks Jerry Brown for helping to advance socialism and absolve irresponsible borrowers from their mistakes by blaming it on the lenders.
I agree with you.. but be careful here. Piggintons are now generally for socialism. When I joined this site in 05, everyone was for free market capitalism, personal responsibility, and people were generally anti bailouts, now they all cry foul and and have massive entitlement issues here. 90% of the threads are now political in nature and mostly support socialist programs and beliefs and bash the opposition. Usually hate/profanity is involved in their responses. When the only politician thus far made a brave comment to the effect of placing some of the blame back on the irresponsible borrowers, and encouraged Americans to live “within their means”, that politician got slammed.hipmatt

Participant“Just given the circumstances, we think it’s appropriate,” Fannie Mae spokesman Brian Faith said, citing Kucinich’s statement and news reports. “It certainly made our radar screen.”
How many other people are going to play the victim here, and now expect entitlements? I’m sure she isn’t the only senior in the country facing foreclosure… There are single moms, people with disabilities, people recently layed off, etc.. plus many more facing hardships, should we forgive everyone’s mortgage who is having a bad year? I get a bad feeling that taxpayers funds will be used to forgive pay for this loan.. I don’t think the direction this is going is good.

Participant
This whole Palin “thing” is so surreal I can’t shake the feeling that it’s a dream. I mean, I remember going to bed last night, then waking up and going to work and coming home, so I know I’m not actually dreaming. But when I really focus on it, it’s like something out of a story. Weird.
I can see your confusion.. but the only thing worse is that most Americans at this point, support a rookie senator with no accomplishments who was judged to be the most liberal senator on 2007..

Combine his lack of experience with his horrible policy and lousy friends… and I too think its something out of a bad story. Weird, I agree.Alarmclock.. talk about bad dreams.. The sad thing is that some day soon, I’m gonna wake up in some foreign place with the same longitude and latitude as the USA we know today.. except the country will resemble something in between China and France. Today was a milestone (bailout bill) towards socializing America, and Obama taking office could be the final nail in the coffin. When he talks about change, I believe him.. and it scares the crap out of me. A country just can’t recover from a massive enlargement of government. Those additions will be permanent.
