I have a friend who purchased a low income unit in the Santaluz area and really likes it. I visit pretty frequently and it seems that the neighbors have not been a problem. She is now married and would not qualify either jointly or with her income as it has gone up.

With the low amount they are paying (less than 1k 2bdrm 2bath), they are able to save up for their future house. It has worked for them. Note, I am not advocating that this program is good for the housing market, but have seen people take advantage of it.

Looked at this house. Heard from realtor showing it that a group of investors purchased it, fixed it up a bit (still needed A LOT of work) and put on market. Was listed at 485k, sold at 525k, buyer paid too much in my opinion. Surrounding houses are listed in the 500’s and in better condition. Will buy in 92024 when prices come down more.

I would add that you can always get on the restaurants email list and then send you great deals. I have received Morton’s dinner for two, steak, seafood, sides and appetizer for $99.

Also, we did restaurant week at Ruth Chris last year and it was a great deal as well.

I am married, in late 20’s, professional and looking for our first home in the north county coastal area. Came across this site about two years ago after looking one time with an agent and realizing that prices could not be sustainable when we could only afford a 1970’s condo in our target area.

Now we can afford (comfortably)a 1970’s sfr. Hopefully when we buy in 1-2 years that house will be a little nicer and newer!
