ParticipantNot sure about the college question, but as far as the selling idea goes- If you really want to sell you’re going to have to price it aggressively (low) and then hope to create a bidding war. Pricing it in the middle or even slightly lower won’t do it now. I think most of the realtors on this site would agree with me. You’ll be competing with short sales and repos so go in with a bang and you’ll sell easily.

ParticipantI agree. Just rent a nice place in your area. There are fantastic rentals now since so many people are renting out their houses.
My husband and I were in a similar situation a couple of years ago. We lost our biggest business account and were struggling with our high mortgage in L.A.
We decided to move down here to S.D. and rent until the market settled– and I’m so happy we did. We are way happier and will be able to buy a much better house when we do buy.fredo4

ParticipantI’d go but my husband (Guido) is large and ill tempered.
Plus I don’t like wine.I do need a new tire though.
