ParticipantI know Mexico City airport quite well. Pass thru there often.
– There are basically NO activities for children.
– The airport is modern, not huge, and crowded
– Aeromexico Airlines has good service (as most upscale things Latin American)
– You most likely will take a shuttle to the terminal on arrival. So the short answer is “yes” you will need to find a different terminal. It is not overly difficult, especially if you have plenty of time.
You will find English is widely spoken in the terminal. I would also add please keep track of your valuables and children at all times.
If you have extended layover there are some incredible cultural sites in Mexico City. Just be careful. Use airport taxi, etc.
And one other thing, thank God you have time. You will have to pass thru Mexican customs. Be patient.

ParticipantI find myself in agreement with most of the comments. The repartee and brain power here is awesome. I too distain the political and religious discussions. They REALLLY detract. There are a few posters, such as big sdr and lil’ sdr and many others who make this site so rewarding. In 2005 I though SD was in for a 30% correction, now I think maybe I was too conservative.

Participant“Outsourcing is becoming less and less attractive. Whereas a few years ago you could get a foreign worker at about 1/4 what it would cost to hire an American worker, today most foreigners cost about 2/3 as much as an American worker. The threat of outsourcing is way overrated.”
That requires citing a source. Otherwise I say you are making up numbers.
