ParticipantOne thing that we all should have learned from the Bush era is that no one party should ever be voted into total control of the White House, the Senate and The House of Representatives. I don’t care whether it’s Repubs or Dems: Neither one should control all three at any one time……………….it’s a recipe for disaster.

ParticipantFrankly, I don’t care if Obama is pink, purple, red, orange, black or white. What I DO care about is the fact that he has shown himself to be extremely liberal which means he would throw billions of dollars at new social programs rather than attempting to fix what’s wrong with the present myriad of social programs. Furthermore, he has shown that he will associate himself with radicals like Rev Wright for over 20 years and then claim that he didn’t know Wright was so radical. To me, this proves that Obama is a huge liar. Bush has been lying to us for years……………….Do we need a another big tax & spender (and liar) in the White House?

ParticipantAllan, you’re absolutely correct about the USA being insolvent. My fear with Obama is NOT that he will raise taxes but that he and a Dem controlled Congress will spend the money on more social programs rather than attempting to fix some of the biggest things that ail the country. McCain is no prize but he’s more likely to tackle a problem head-on and tell you what the consequences are if we don’t attack it.
You are correct that neither one of them is going to get in front of a television camera and tell the honest truth about what needs to be done before the election is completed.
I am very suspect about Obama’s repeated claims of “change” because he doesn’t present anything of substance that tells the American people exactly what he’s going to change. It’s just a whole bunch of platitudes and mish-mush, over and over again…………………and people (mainly young people and women) seem to fall for this slick talking, hard-left liberal who’s going to sell the country right down the river.June 22, 2008 at 3:46 PM in reply to: Bank of American appears to have written the Dodd-Shelby banking bailout bill #226828Ex-SD
