ParticipantSenator Dodd is one of the biggest cuckoo’s that nest in the Senate. He is consistently for causes that are wacky and cost big $$$$$$$ to the taxpayers. He has long been associated with lobbyists from the big, Wall Street brokerage houses so that is why he is pushing this idea. Unfortunately, he is not alone with his looney-ness and if his wacky ideas get a foothold, they just might pass. But………there is still the VETO power of the Presidency so let’s hope that Bush stick to his guns about no bailouts for the housing market.

ParticipantThe foreclosed homes in the better areas have to start showing up soon at prices that will move them quickly. The lenders (like Countrywide) need cash………and a lot of it. The homes that they’re sitting on and will be owning soon represent a lot of liquid $$$$$$$ to them.

ParticipantI think the price is ridiculous because in 95% of the country, you’d be hard pressed to get $275k-$300k for that POS property. I was giving it a credit for being in one of the coastal communities of CA.
If you re-read my post, my estimate of what it was worth was based on the real world…….not Fantasyland. People can over-pay for property all day long and it’s no skin off my back but this kind of insanity is what drove prices up, up and further up to what caused this entire fiasco. Where this property is concerned, my opinion is…….. “A fool and his money are soon parted”.Ex-SD
