I am not certain, but I believe that your daughter still can go to Dingeman for Seminar program even if you house is not in the boundary of Dingeman school. You should call the school to confirm it.

Haha…it’s a bit much!
EVSDCAParticipantTo my understanding, you have to fix in the BOX which requires FICO above 700 or so
EVSDCAParticipantYes, I have closed my refi with boxhomeloans in 30 days (locked on April 30, and closed on May 31 when the rate started creeping up). Their rate was very good. I got 3.5% interest rate for 30 fixed loan with approximately $800 closing cost. At closing, there was home insurance cost of $160 being charge to me, and I found out that upon BHL’s request, my insurance company sent them the declaration page in which I still owed $160 (???)…somehow my insurance company increased by premium by $160. However, it was totally a separate issue between me and my home insurance company. At the time, I didn’t want to delay my closing, so I told BHL to go ahead and include $160 in my cost (This is to address some of the info. included in your original post).
David Mayne was my loan officer and he was very good at getting back to me and provide detailed information about certain requirements for high amount loan (over $600K) such as 3 recent sales within 90 days within 1 mile radius from our house for appraisal purposes. We jumped hoops but they were attainable. Overall, I am very happy with BHL as I got an incredibly low mortgage rate.EVSDCAParticipant
As an attorney, I would be *very* reluctant to advertise a fixed price such as mr foley does. What if a dr said he’d fix a runny nose for $100? A runny nose can be a cold but can also be a symptom of a brain tumor. Ethically, you are obligated to do the best job possible for the client once you have a chosen to represent him or her – but what if the best job takes 20 hrs and you’re only getting paid for one ….?
If you read through it, the price includes an amount to teach you how to do it yourself. Is that really what you want? See if you can contact a law professor (such as one at USD) who teaches trusts and estates and see if they can give you a recommendation.
Thanks so much for your input. I will have to look at the “fine print” as I was under an impression that the trust will be done by the attorney office including transferring the title of one real estate to the trust.EVSDCAParticipantThank you. I checked her website, but there isn’t any information about the fees. What’s her fee for a living trust look like? Thanks
EVSDCAParticipant

IIRC, don’t you and Scarlett live in UC where your kid(s) attend public school? And are you still searching to buy a residence for your family?
Just wondering, Rhett. It’s been a long time for you guys.
Yes, but no on the public school. Would rather not share details on the rest unless Scarlet would care to do so (in other words, ask the boss π ).
As far as the OP goes, I’d like to know the parameters before I criticize them too much, but it almost sounds to me like they are in or near Miro Circle, and for some reason were deluded into thinking that they could drive down the hill to Dingeman rather than around Lake Miramar to Miramar Ranch. Very similar situation to what we were seeing when looking in that area.
Interboundary choice transfers (that is from one grade school to another when both feed the same middle and/or high schools) probably never happen. And why should they?
I was trying abandon my post after receiving bunch of “quick to judge” opinions rather than a productive Q&A as I would imagine how it goes. When all else fails, I often refer to Piggs for resources as I believe there are “well rounded people” (not physically) who would offer great insight because they are super knowledge in a wide range of areas/aspects of life. I first have to take blame for not giving enough information on my original post.
Well, we bought our dream house at a dream price with our dream realtor…blah blah blah…just got my loan funded today at 3.5%, 30 years fixed. I am in a real good mood.
We don’t intend to abandon our house (sell it, rent it, or give it away) for a “rented room”…oh hell no, we just want to spend enough time or so there to get our kid to the school we want. Ignore all other so not important factors when comparing 2 schools, the main reason is the bell’s schedule of DM (3:30PM) works perfect for my work schedule where I can pick up my kid and spend the rest of the afternoon doing homework or other activities with kid; rather than organizing a pickup and after school activities after the Miramar Ranch’s bell ringing at 2PM. The distance from our house to both school is practically the same.
Also, we were well aware of the school situation when we purchased the house, and so did our realtor. And we concur that we can live with it… life happens that sometimes you find an avenue is more convenience than the other during your journey…
Obviously, without you mentioned about the schools that I was referring to, nobody care what schools are at discussed…just give out opinions…
The only person who cares what others’ input is the poster, and I thank you for all your contribution to the thread even though it may not be as productive as I originally thought it would. I truly thank you, Rhett for your sense in the situation (may you please excuse my broken English)EVSDCAParticipant
I for one think you’re out of your GD mind.
Thanks for your input…but is it because it is impossible? Or you think I am just crazyEVSDCAParticipant
Fire, and call sdrealtor. I, and others have had nothing but good experiences with him.
+1EVSDCAParticipantThank you for the info. I am glad that you had a positive experience. I think I will try to find out if it works for me. I am with BoA, and I keep on receiving the “invitation letter” with my mortgage payment asking me to call to see if I can refi. I called a couple of time, but BoA has never had any good rate. I refinanced with one of the local broker 3 times in the past 3 years, and he always did really good for us. But this time, I think BHL has a better rate. I hope it’ll work out
EVSDCAParticipantDid you fill out the application online? Did you call them up to confirm the quoted rate from the website? How do you get your rate? What is the process? I am quoted for $0 closing cost, so did you have to pay for appraisal fee…etc? Thank you
EVSDCAParticipantThanks!!!!
