ParticipantThe Glendover house is about 700 ft away from the power lines which most research I found say OK. Even the critics of powerlines say you want a minimum of only 400 feet from the power lines.

The ~1800 sq ft Glendover house (with canyon view and new kitchen) recently sold for 435k has set a new low for this area. The Calston home also with canyon view is listing 449k, this house is ready to be closed too, not sure about the final price.

I think the powerline is what driving down their price greatly. Take a look at this house: http://www.sdlookup.com/MLS-100064450-92126, it’s only 1366 sq-ft (not upgraded) with canyon view, but it’s closed at $405k. This one: http://www.sdlookup.com/MLS-100053354-11003_Alonda_Ct_San_Diego_CA_92126 is only 1396 sq-ft upgraded w/ canyon view closes at $440k. This one: http://www.sdlookup.com/MLS-100060937-7118_Blakstad_Ct_San_Diego_CA_92126 is in the same development as the Glendover but is further way from the powerline but has no view closed a month ago for $465k. So, if you’re ok w/ living underneath power lines, then you can get some good deals in that development.[/quote]EmilyHicks

Participantthis is the best, we bought this and cut cable. it works perfectly eventhough we put it in the attic.
small and powerful, picks up all available channels.
