ParticipantThanks HLS, that really clarifies a lof on definitions. Another quick question, if I have score over 700, then how would I know if I am having a prime or subprime loan before we close the escrow? It looks like the terms of either loan could be the same (5/25, 3/27 ….), am I right?

Participantsame here, vegasrenter.
HLS, thanks for the update. Does that mean 2nd will not need full document, what is considered a high enough credit score? Thanks.

ParticipantI don’t understand why so many ppl hate walmart. This is likely another way shop-owners want to get rid of their competitors that sell products at reasonable price.

ParticipantHLS, I feel that there is confusing about the word “subprime”. Was it original used to describe the buyers that are under prime but no loan is subprime, am I right?

Participanttoots, if the laws are really strict, then both the price of REOs and the must-sells must come down shortly. The Fed is allowing this to happen because they know that housing market is taking a big truck of the US economy and they do not dare to deal with that the hard way. Let us see what the senate will do to give them more pressure to change the rules.

ParticipantAlex, I believe there are still buyers who cannot afford a house but still want to buy one so that they have to use these “so-called” strategies. I don’t blame the buyers. It is the market that pushes them to do that. What I do not understand is why the lenders or whatever they are that have money to lend can still do these tricks. I thought they have already tighten the lending rules. If the Fed or the government does not implement laws but to use guidelines (which have no power) to tighten lending. This will continue to happen. It is the government who does the lousy job to begin with to induce this housing bubble, they are still doing the lousy job. They either don’t want to face the reality or they are afraid to deal with that directly.
