Participant

Another social conservative caught in a sex scandal.
They are all talk and no substance; but they are fun to watch.
WASHINGTON — Representative Christopher Lee of New York abruptly resigned on Wednesday night after a shirtless photo of himself, which he had e-mailed to a woman, was published on the Internet.

Nice, way to keep thumping the conversatives vs. progressives mantra. Big surprise.
When you read his posts you realize he is a true douche bag. Most people just ignore him. Earlier he talks of “I blame conservatives for Bill Clinton’s fallout” etc. No personal responsibility whatsoever. It doesn’t matter that he was using cigars as sex toys in the White House. His situation goes beyond adultery and crossed over into an issue of professionalism and lying to the public. He was the freaking president and the office calls for the highest standards. There are no excuses for this action whether it was done by a conservative or liberal president. When a president commits these acts it is a much bigger deal then when a junior senator does it. Period. I am not saying it is okay for a junior senator, btw. Yet somehow Brian manages to change this into a political blame game and it is put on conservatives? WTF. Is this bizzarro world?
He brings up conservatives vs liberals and because he reads four or five articles about conservatives cheating they are the biggest hypocrites. Bottom line is that whether you are liberal or conservative, you made a commitment to your wife or husband to be faithful when you got married. If you break that vow you are a hypocrite. Plain and simple.
Families are destroyed when this happens like a previous poster mentioned…but it is no big deal to Brian.
You see, I guarantee Brian is a small unattractive waif of a man who barely holds any manly qualities which are desired by a woman deep down. He is probably a push over and it doesn’t take long for women to lose respect for him. They then cheat. In order to cope with their actions he justifies it by taking on a free love mantra. Picture the 45 year old, 120 lb guy wearing a beret and John Lennon type glasses with a pony tail driving a Prius 15 miles under the speed limit and you have Brian. Now tell me women are falling all over themselves to jump on that train. In order to deal with his shortcomings he has to alter reality to conform with his situation. I guess we all are the center of our own universe…so I can’t blame him completely.

ParticipantLooking at that interactive map is scary. Our government is trying to do too much. We can’t afford everything they want to do. People get used to those services after they are implemented and then they become “necessary”. Repeat cycle.

Great article. Speaks for itself.
I think it speaks for how facked this country is no matter what side of the Isle you are on.
I would want to fact check some of this as it is coming from the LA times. I’m a little confused as to how they call it a deficit when they haven’t spent the money yet. Sounds like they are just not going to be able to spend as much as the previous year. I thought a deficit was when you actually spent money you didn’t have.

Knowing the subject matter, and knowing how to teach are two totally different things (both equally important). If you think teachers are “glorified babysitters,” or that the job was easy, you probably weren’t a very good teacher.
I went to school and became a credentialed teacher. I thank you for pointing out that knowing subject matter and delivering it are different. I had no idea.
My enrollment spoke for itself. I am still in touch with some former students and while a teacher I had many students seek personal advice from me. I even once had a female student (18 going on 30) seek my advice after she was raped by a friend of her stripper sister’s boyfriend and became pregnant.
So when I say glorified babysitter I mean someone who has to keep the kids on task all the way to being a guidance counselor.
