ParticipantI’m not sure about the school situation in DeLuz. We drove through the area last weekend and I actually saw an old “one room schoolhouse.” I dont know if that was ‘historic’ or real.
DeLuz is a little more isolated and definitely not as easy to run out and pick up a gallon of milk or six pack of beer.
Have you checked out La Cresta? I’ve heard very nice things about the area. My husband and I go mountain biking up on the Santa Rosa Eco preserve. There is a very cool guide who leads hikes and bike tours every Saturday. In fact, if you come up to the area, I recommend either one. When my husband and I did the bike tour, it was just the three of us.
I’m not sure about Temecula in 7-10 years. I’d like to think the City will act responsibly, but who knows? We’re buying a house in a well-established neighborhood, and most of our neighbors have lived on the cul de sac for 15+ years, which I like.
I suppose you could call the city offices and find out what plans are in the works for expansion/growth.
Have you checked out this forum? It’s a San Diego City forum with a lot of great info:

Also, here are some links to the Liberty Quarry situation:

ParticipantNostradamus,
With regards to the lobster “shrinking” when out of the water…is that similar to George Constanza’s “shrinkage” issues many years ago in “Seinfeld”? If you don’t know what I’m talking about, never mind…
That story really bothers me – not that your lobster was .5 mm too small, but that the people who should be punished – e.g. the repeat offender with the truckload of stuff – gets off lightly. Ugh.
I spoke to my “almost felon” friend today. She’s mulling over a job prospect (has to let them know by Monday) and freaking out about the background check process. She said, “gawd, it just all sounds like an episode of ’24’ or something…I dont want to get into the details.”
Her misdemeanor ‘plea’ ended up being disorderly conduct. She is actually thinking of saying that she was at a rally protesting Bush and the war and that things got out of hand.
I told her this is a bad idea on a few levels, but mainly because I think if a potential employer found out that she wasnt truthful it would look a LOT worse. In my experience, I’ve found that things have a way of biting one in the arse…
I also pointed out that it wasnt grand larceny, prostitution, embezzlement, or assault.
What the other poster said about cops being taught to just “take control” makes sense. And, yes, that guy does sound scary. Armed power/control freaks…all they need is a lack of education, morals and/or soul and they can make life a real rodeo.

ParticipantSD Realtor: do you know anything about Ocean Hills? I think it’s between Carlsbad and Shadowridge – but is technically O’side.
I know someone who lives there and raves about it. He has a pretty big lot and pool and seems to think his neighborhood wont be hard hit by depreciation – but I have no idea what he is actually basing this on.
