ParticipantShadowfax, another area you might want to consider, if you work in the peninsula, is Cupertino. That area is well known for its school being one of the best in SF areas.

ParticipantI drive 2001 IS300 and according to my friend, a Lexus mechanic, this is one of the most reliable car Lexus made that year. So far the car been very reliable (keeping my fingers crossed) and the only thing I have to do is the maintenance, which is more expensive then Toyota/Honda for same similar parts. If you going to get a used IS, then get a IS350, not IS250. The same mechanic says the IS350 is more reliable as he sees the IS250 more often at the shop. This might not be a fair assessment because there are IS250 out of the road than the IS350….

Participant

Flu, you sound just like a typical Chinese. My wife and I also try to avoid the 4’s on the street numbers, telephone, account, etc. I guess nothing you can do if your social security has too many 4s…
I guess this is why you live in CV instead of 4S Ranch ;-)
Well, if they called it 8s ranch, I probably would end up living there, along with the other chinese nutjobs.
I’ll tell you, when I was up in the bay area. I got killed during 8 months I lived in Foster City, had the biggest problems dating, and had the worst time working…….and then when I moved to Sunnyvale, everything started going really well on all 3 fronts.
Zip code for Sunnyvale.. 94086
Zip code for Foster City 94404
LOL. Let’s get a petition to change 4s to 8s; no problem in getting support from so many asians living there. I was there to check out some model homes couple years back and were surprised to see so many potential buyers were asians.
Having lived and worked in bay area, I know both places pretty well. Foster is closed to the airport and is right underneath the path where planes line up to land. Perhaps the noise ruined your sleep which made your life/work more challenging. As for Sunnyvale, right in the heart of silicon valley, is a nice area with some homes go to the Cupertino school district. It kinda remind me of CV, except the homes there are older and more packed in.
If you are that superstitious, then the “right” zip is 92128, in Sabre Springs/Poway.
