ParticipantMy father-in-law died on 9/18 and my mother died 10/8 … I’ve been up to my ears in death and funerals and this was the first time I have been able to look at pigingtons in weeks since I’ve been up to my ears in ICU and tubes down the throat, etc.
When I saw this “conspiracy thread” , knowing full well it isn’t reality, I realized, you know, I’m not really not into reality right now — I’d like a bit of fantasy and escape. For some reason I am in need of a bit of humor right now and the conspiracy theory just made me laugh and laugh … guess there’s a place for everything.
Remember, it’s just a house. Look at those you have to hug and hold, waaaaaay more important than the housing market.

I recently read a great article about the last housing downturn and how long it took for prices to drop. In the last downturn it was 18 months. The article was basically a news article time capsule. It reported that Bel Air dropped 40 to 50% in 18 months.
IMHO, with widespread information (the internet!) it may drop faster than 18 months.
But we shall see.

ParticipantIMHO Jim “C” is a media whore and a liar! I heard him on the Bill Handel (640 KFI) show about a month ago saying housing would be going up in 08 and I think he even suggested buying stock in a particular builder! I was shocked. I knew then he was an idiot.
Surely it didn’t take him one month to unload all of his real estate!

When I told my husband about this thread he suggested, along these great lines, that I post all the housing auction sites he has found — I guess he’s found at least 8 reputable auctioneers of estate/new/resale homes. It would be fun to watch that list grow. We will get them together and post soon.
