Aw, quit your whining and go apply to work for the city. I’m sick of all the San Diego citizens complaining about city workers and their retirements. Every one of you has, or had, the opportunity to work for the city. So go do it, or shut up.

condogrrlParticipantIf ever you get a radar speeding ticket, go to the city you were cited in and ask for an “engineering and traffic survey” report (commonly known as a “speed survey” and is public information). Posted speed limits are based on these speed surveys and often posted speed limits are illegally set low(usually for political reasons). Refer to CVC 40802.
If the posted speed limit is not justified by a current speed survey, then the posted speed limit is not “radar enforceable” and the ticket is no good. The judge will dismiss the ticket. Cops know this and will still write illegal tickets.
I know this because I used to conduct speed surveys for the city of SD. Ask any attorney who specializes in traffic violations – they know this. But the best plan is DON’T SPEED.

About 98% of them are fire and police. Want to cut these salaries? Go ahead. But don’t condemn all non-fire and non-police city employees. Many of the workers standing hip deep in sewage in a hole in the middle of your street are making about $15/hour. Focus on the police and fire unions for scaring everyone into giving their employees high wages and tons of overtime. And those gold plated pensions? I’m a retired city employee (not police or fire) and I’m getting about 55% of my former salary as my pension. I am quite familiar with the situation in the city, and all the lies spread by the media in San Diego.
