ParticipantMy understanding is that you go to a top tier program to meet the other people there, because they are the pool that will ultimately advance your career through association. Maybe she’s just fishing in the wrong end of the pond, or too ignorant to know how to fish at all. One would think that there is a way to find SOMETHING to keep the wolf from the door with the requisite fire in the belly. As a very successful fellow I used to work for liked to say, “Survival is one hell of a motivator.”
