ParticipantHi Sam,
Brave of you to post 😉
The only problem I am having is that the magnet mounted to the door frame keeps rusting and then doesn’t hold as well. My neighbor with a different brand (don’t know which one) doesn’t seem to have this problem. Any tips?

ParticipantIt has always helped me to put a dollar amount on the decision. If you moved to an inland location in CA, like you would be in Denver, what is the house price difference? For example if you say 375k vs. 600k, it on the order of 1k per month difference. Definitely a lot of money, but it is worth it to YOU.
There are certainly recurring costs as well and the state tax here is too high.

ParticipantAlthough I can see how these types of doors could be prone to failure, have had clearview on 2 doors for 4 years, works great, no repairs. Even if I have to repair them every 5 years, I still prefer it to a screen door. The kids and dogs have walked into them maybe 5 or 6 times, but they just retract and it hasn’t been a problem. They are the slow retracting type. I’m not recommending clearview at all, but any type with the slower retracting would be preferable if you have kids.

ParticipantAnyone ever been to Briar Rose in Temecula? Been there once, the wines were excellent. The background story is that they purchased the land from an ex Disney guy who built a replica of snow white’s house on the land (where you do the tasting), hence the name Briar Rose. Sounds touristy and gimmicky, but the wines are very good.
Mount Palomar was also good.
