ParticipantWe sure executed his a$$ fast.
Actually it took a little more than 6 years. He was executed in 2001.

Participant“Idiocracy” may be the scariest movie I’ve ever seen. We are headed there quickly and sometimes I think we’ve already arrived. Come to think of it our president reminds me a bit of Not Sure. I think the studio had to can that film because it was lampooning their core demographic.
“South Park” isn’t even in the same league as most things on TV, it’s actually very clever and thought-provoking. I guess not everything these days is bad. SP last week was great where they redefined the word “fag” to mean an obnoxious inconsiderate person riding a loud motorcycle.

ParticipantWe are living “Idiocracy” to be sure. When I was a kid we watched The Carol Burnett Show, Good Times, All In The Family, etc… There was no cursing, very little violence, and for sex people were satisfied with saucy double entendres (remember Match Game?) that went straight over the kids heads. We children of the late 60s/early 70s also loved reruns of the older shows like The Brady Bunch and The Andy Griffith Show, even though they were from an earlier time and seemed a little square. Now we all get our jollies watching people smash things or shoot and torture one another on “24”. Truly amazing. I doubt a 10 year old today could make it through 2 minutes of Andy Griffith before reaching for the XBox controller or switching the TV to some military re-enactment on the history channel. Though these shows are heavy on talk and details, they never show you what bodies look like after they’ve been blown apart. Of course that would be in bad taste.
It’s only a matter of time before the number one TV show in the US will be “Ow My Balls!”

Participantwe always hear comments about how kids today are a lot smarter than yesteryears, that’s the part of this evolutionary process that we are not noticing.
WTF? Smarter than yesterday? Puh-leeze. Better at playing video games, perhaps, but smarter? No way. Here in Duh-merica we are heading straight towards Idiocracy. Those idiots on “The Hills” sound like geniuses compared to most of the kids I hear talking now. And they can’t read or write without LOL or CUL8R.
BTW the story about the virus in the Ukraine is interesting. Does anyone remember this story from August? Make sure to read the first two comments — again, this story and these comments are from the end of August…
…Joseph Moshe, called into the Dr True Ott Show on Republic Broadcasting and said he was a microbiologist who wanted to hand over evidence to a States Attorney regarding tainted H1N1 vaccines being produced by Baxter pharmaceutical. He claimed that that Baxter’s lab in the Ukraine was in fact preparing a bioweapon disguised as a vaccine. He maintained that the vaccine contained both adjuvants designed to weaken the immune system, and replicated RNA from the virus responsible for the 1918 global pandemic. …The following day he was hauled out of his red VW beetle by a SWAT team and arrested. He was immediately extradited to Israel, where he has dual-citizenship, and hasn’t been heard from since.
Maybe it’s not true, it’s just interesting that this story came out in August and now in November we have a scary virus outbreak in the Ukraine…
