barnaby33ParticipantI was going to post about the JUG, but got beaten to it. A good way to get exposure to the developers there is to sponsor one of the meetings. Basically your company buys pizza and sodas for the meeting. Your HR person or recruiter can come and give a face to their advertising.

barnaby33ParticipantIf you have brass balls, twelve pounds each that might not be a bad idea. They had better be twelve pounds each though.
Josh
barnaby33ParticipantEverytime I see this thread come back to life, I chuckle. I pity the poor bastard trying to sell that house. I am suspect of anyone who would buy it.
Josh
barnaby33ParticipantMark S, WTF are you talking about? Are you a complete raving looney or just needing to vent a bit? From your post, it’s the only one from you I’ve ever seen, I going with Looney.
If you have a point to make please do so.
Josh
barnaby33Participantchip_designer, you really need to change your tagline. At first it was just annoying, but you have shot way beyond that
Josh
barnaby33ParticipantWhen a CEO sells 190 million in stock, he can pretty much say whatever he wants, I’ll follow his lead and be bearish on the stock.
Josh
barnaby33ParticipantHuh? Direction and timing are, “put options”. Shorts can be held until your broker forces you to cover them.
Josh
barnaby33ParticipantThanks for the update little lady, good luck.
Josh
barnaby33ParticipantThat is to say kewp, if you have a job.
Josh
barnaby33ParticipantLEND is up again, like a rocket. I think I am buying a few more puts on it.
Josh
barnaby33ParticipantSin does well in recessions. AB is probably a stock to buy if its reasonably priced. I know I ain’t selling any of my MO. What really kills me is that monday I bought my first put ever, 15 dollar january puts on LEND. I was going to sell them but got stuck in an all day meeting today and the stock went up 2.00 a share. aaaaarrrrggggghhhh.
If the stock gets de-listed, does that make your puts unenforcable?
Josh
barnaby33ParticipantFormerSanDiegan, I sure am glad you filled in the blanks for me.
I never mentioned 20% I am glad you could read between the lines and extrapolate that out of my post. That takes a certainly subtlety I am not usually capable of.
I’ve said this time and again, there are reasons why traditional metrics are well traditional, they worked. They kept the majority of people out of hot water, and lowered the risk of extending credit to the point where it was profitable for banks to do so.
As to my comment about entitlement, that merely comes from the tone and tenor of renterclints response to my post. I stick by what I said, if you don’t have the patience to save a down payment you shouldn’t buy. There are exceptions to every rule and you found a couple, but that doesn’t make renterclints post any less childish or entitlement mentality driven.
Oh and the last thing I have ever wanted, is to rule the world.
Josh
barnaby33ParticipantThank you is it chocolate chip!
Not quite at that level of downpayment but getting close. Of course its taken me years of driving used cars and living in shitty apts. Get in the back of the line renterclint. You may want to own a house but your desires do not presage society’s need to provide it.
I realize that a good down payment is necessary because its a huge responsibility (ownership). If you are not responsible or capable of saving a downpayment, how have you demonstrated the necessary financial maturity to own. At that point you are a partner in the ownership process.
Yes I do believe that loosening the requirements for finance have gotten us where we are. I also believe that tightening those requirements is exactly what will bring us back to sanity.
It is you that sounds pompous and entitled, not I.
Josh
barnaby33ParticipantLots of harsh comments here, how about cutting her a bit of slack? I didn’t always agree with her either, but at least she is putting her money where her mouth is.
