barnaby33ParticipantHey hipmatt, I hear San Diego is nice this time of year. You could rent a nice place in Hillcrest and avoid all of that!
I just had a nice bike ride to the beach yesterday. Today I walked to the farmers market and this afternoon, I’ll head east to my local flying site for an hour or two of paragliding. Not that I am bragging.

barnaby33Participantcoreclient, you would have to be truly naive, or stupid, to get caught in a scam like those you mentioned in the bullet item list on your website. Don’t you dare accuse waiting hawk of anything.
Anyone, and I mean anyone who uses the phrase, “I am a Christian,” in reference to their trustworthiness is about to fuck you with a 12 inch John Holmes model rubber dick. Good luck with your rigtheous indignation, it doesn’t pass my sniff test.

barnaby33ParticipantSince this thread is dedicated to a video link, I think I’ll add this one: Right now. I would have to say the Ron Paul endorsement at the end partly ruined it for me, otherwise it was a good video.

barnaby33ParticipantRenters do pay their fare share, its called rent.
Mello roos don’t seem unfair to me, you are told up front what the cost is going to be and it doesn’t change over time. Its paid by all the people who buy into the development. So far as I know a Mello-Roos is just a bond issued by the developer to pay for infrastructure that the govt makes him build. Whats unfair about that.
Prop 13 is a totally different animal. It sets unfair taxation policies that favor one type of resident over another, even though all residents demand civic services.

barnaby33Participantrecordsclerk, thats a total red herring. There are lots of ways to keep people in their houses that don’t involve unfair taxation policies. First of all, how long someone has lived in a place has little to do with what infrastructure maintenance costs.
Second prop 13 is a bold faced lie, its an attempt to starve the beast, not save little old ladies. If you don’t like the way govt spends your money, vote for a govt that will do so responsibly. Don’t try and short circuit the taxation collection when its really the spending people object to.
All prop 13 really does is shift the burden from long time residents to newer ones, regardless of age. Does the little old lady next door use the roads less? How about ambulances, police and fire? I bet she uses more of those, but doesn’t pay her fair share.

barnaby33ParticipantDarn you pre-empted my comment. It won’t affect affordability one whit, if prices come down enough to compensate for the rise in interest rates.
