Bad luck to the flipper losing over $130,000 already
More like bad luck to the bank that loaned the guy 100% purchase money. All the flipper has lost is his credit.

Ash HousewaresParticipantI would be more accepting to Buchanan if he weren’t such a theocrat. You have to have a leader who acts rationally, not on gut feeling (Bush) or religious principles that many don’t share.

Ash HousewaresParticipantLook at your overall financial picture, not just your address. If you live in a “second tier” neighborhood you will have more money for other things including travel, investing, eating out, retiring at an earlier age, etc. Make her understand that it’s not what she’s giving up in housing, it’s about what she’s gaining in everything else.

Ash HousewaresParticipantThe Perth Mint is worth looking into. You can buy gold there through Peter Schiff’s firm Euro Pacific Cap. That way if the dollar collapses and the gov’t moves to seize all gold, they can’t touch yours because it is overseas. Also it is not a bank account so it does not need to be reported to any gov’t agency, it is just a vault they hold for you. I think Euro Pac charges 2%, and the storage in Perth in free.
