Participant
Wages for the types of jobs we had have gone nowhere in that time. Those wages have gone up *maybe* 40%-60% since then.
Not sure when you went to college, but in order for wage to gone up only 40-60%, according to the minimum wage data, you must be going to college around mid 90s, correct? Here’s the historical data: http://www.thedigeratilife.com/blog/federal-minimum-wage-history/Back in the mid 90s, a 2/2 apartment in Mira was going for ~$1000/month. Today, that SAME 2/2 is going for ~$1350/month. So, income has gone up 40-60% while rent has gone up ~35%. I know the rent in mid 90s because I know someone who was renting that same 2/2 apartment in 1995.

I wished the government never built the Interstate highway system. The government never should have mandated cheap telephone, utility, postal, internet and wireless services to the rural areas where the cost of providing services per resident is much higher. The Federal government should not have funded airports in small cities like Biloxi, MS that have few passengers. We should have left it to the market to charge a proportional fee for use.
In fact, the states that pay less Federal taxes should not get more. Let’s not spread the wealth.
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/ezra-klein/2010/04/the_red_state_ripoff.htmlWe would not have the suburbs and the exurbs as we know them today without government intervention.
I’m confused, aren’t you for bigger government?May 26, 2011 at 9:52 AM in reply to: Modern green home communities in SD North County Costal #699086an

thank you AN, you give a lot of great information.sorry, I mistyped. I tried to say CC (not CS). Could you elaborate on the above area?
Thanks again.
There’s one development around Sean Taylor Ln. Those are built in the early 90s. The lots are very small ~4k and very narrow and long. So, the houses are narrow and long. They are all 2 stories around 1700-2000 sq-ft.There’s one development around Rock Canyon Dr. Those are built in the mid 80s. The lots are bigger (5k-12k) with some having canyon view. There’s a mixture of 1 and 2 stories around 1300-1800 sq-ft.
There’s one development around Flower Medow Dr. These are similar to the Sean Taylor Ln but were built in the mid 80s.
There’s 1 development right west of Sandburg that were built in the early-mid 70s. The lots are around 5k with some having canyon view. There’s 4 different single story floor plan ranging from 1100 sq-ft to 1600 sq-ft. There’s also 2 two stories floor plan between 2100-2255 sq-ft. I don’t like either of those 2 stories floor plans but that’s just me.
There’s 1 development right east of Sandburg. They were built in the early-mid 70s. There’s a mixture of 1 and 2 stories. They do have 1 story as big as ~1800 sq-ft. The lots are around 5500 sq-ft.
Then there’s the development right north of Sandburg that’s the same as the development around Thomas Hayes. These are built in the late 80s early 90s. Mostly 2 stories as big as 2200 sq-ft and 1 single story floor plan around 1600 sq-ft.

ParticipantMost of east of Camino Ruiz is older homes built in the 70s. Most of them are smaller 3/2 and 4/2 between 1100-1600 sq-ft single story. There are two 2 stories floor plan (2100 and 2200 sq-ft) also built in the 70s. You have to check them out but the floor plan felt strange to me. There’s a little cul-de-sac in the North East corner of Camino Ruiz and Calle Cristobal that’s the same development as the North West and South West corner of that intersection.
What’s CS? You have to be a little more specific in what kind of housing you’re looking for. There are 4 different development South of CC, North of Sandburg, West of Camino Ruiz, and East of Camino Santa Fe. They have different feel and age.
