In the case of the Indians here in the US, this might sound brutal, but they were pretty much in the way. They were literally on the tracks when the train came through.

I think whether it’s religious or secular, raw power is completely efficient and totally ruthless in seeking it’s own ends. Dress it up however you want, but the bottom line remains the same: “God is on the side of the big battalions”.
