ParticipantIf home office remodel is deductible and you add a room to your house and move your existing home office to the new room can you deduct the full cost of addition?
How is it possible that the county destroys blueprints 90 days after the work is done? What’s stopping me from making an unpermitted modification (something that’s not visible from the outside) and claiming that’s how the things were as long as I don’t get caught during construction?

Imagine what your life would be like if you lived in a third-world country and desperately needed even SOME of the health and human services that eligible Americans enjoy!
The solution is obvious – send freeloaders to Somalia for a year and they’ll stop complaining.
Would those people also get their tax $ back for all the years they paid and not use the service?
Sure, just like H1B’s that get to collect the employee’s share of SS/medicare taxes when they leave.

Throughout my long “career” as a bureaucrat, I have found that those families who typically use the MOST free or low-cost public services are, in general, the biggest complainers about public agencies their workers…
Well, that’s probably because those families deal with public agencies the most, no?

Participant

Did you guys define what ‘socialist country’ is?
Do we really have to do that? Seriously?
The only credible and accepted definition of ‘socialist country’ is one where the majority of economic activity is controlled by the state. Specifically:
– Most industry is owned by the state
– Private property ownership is nonexistent or an uncommon exception
– Most of the workforce is employed by state-owned organizations
I don’t know, different people assume different things when they talk about socialism and socialist state. Isn’t there a self-declared socialist in the US Senate? What you you describing sounds like Leninist ‘Socialist State’ or Nazi Germany.
I wanted to propose Portugal and India for relatively successful and innovative socialist countries, but neither fits your definition of socialist country. Though some innovation did happen in both Nazi Germany and USSR and satellites.

ParticipantDid you guys define what ‘socialist country’ is? One with the word ‘socialist’ in the name, or one where the ruling party is a member of Socialist International? Or something completely different?

ParticipantSoftware shop that treats employees like this Zynga To Employees: Surrender Pre-IPO Shares Or You’re Fired and encourages innovation like this Leaked Zynga Memo Justifies Copycat Strategy is bound to succeed. I predict the big success will come together with dr. P’s victory in 2016.

That’s a sweet deal Flu! But there’s no free lunch in this world… there must be something that WF gets out of this.
The fee is higher than other places once you run through your free trades. With $25K PMA package you get 100 free trades/year and pay $20/trade after that. And I don’t think you can use free trades on penny stock.
