BTW, congratulations on your purchse! Hope you are enjoying your new house. How do you like it so far?
Love it π I can almost understand how the whole bubble thing happened. Like Monty Python’s Sir Lancelot, I want just a little bit of the peril … I’m not planning to take out a HELOC to pay for a three-story backyard palapa, but I have been doing my part to keep Home Depot in business.

ParticipantDoesn’t sound to me like the individual payouts will be capped based on how many people claim the credit … I think they’ll only deduct 57% or 70% from the $100 million total for the purpose of deciding when to stop accepting applications.
Granted the state credit isn’t quite as much of a gimme as the federal credit … but if I could’ve possibly delayed escrow in order to get it, I would’ve done so. I still think both credits are bad for taxpayers, but my principles aren’t quite strong enough to compel me to turn down free money.

Participant

I’d just pulled out a nail in my new house when everything started to creak and shake.
WHAT THE F*&K ARE YOU DOING…
Put the nail back in!

lol!!!!!
Chaos theory is amazing like that. A fly flaps its wings in Arkansas, causing a snowstorm in Canada. An Asian man pulls a nail in San Diego, causing an Earthquake in Mexico.
I admit it, the quake was all my fault π
I kept pulling and pulling but the nail just wouldn’t end. I had to get out a cheater bar, then fence pliers, then asbestos gloves and a welding helmet. Just as the nail shank was starting to glow red-hot, the point came loose and I fell backwards on my posterior.
Seriously though, you can’t imagine what was going through my head π As part of my absurdly detailed due diligence I’d studied the local geology and decided that the area was less than desirable from a seismic standpoint. However, I decided that other factors were more important … Then an earthquake hits a week after closing. At least the shaking stopped while I still had clean underwear.
