ParticipantI second Tacos al Gordo. Best street-style tacos you can get in the USA. Chula Vista has some AMAZING Mexican food. And CHEAP too. Unfortunately, most gringos are afraid of going down there, but its their loss because the food is to die for. Agave Grill has some outstanding seafood, not like you’ve ever had before. We’re talking Sinaloa style Mexican. Tacos, burritos, etc are good, but they only represent northern Mexico and don’t cover all that Mexican food has to offer. Creamy, chesey sauces — almost more Italian than what most people think of Mexican. There are also some amazing torta shops all along Broadway in Chula Vista. Elotes and horchata FTW.

ParticipantSheesh, when I was growing up, a bacon double cheeseburger from Burger King once a month was a luxury. Talk about perspective…

ParticipantThe beautiful coastline between Tijuana and Ensenada is going through the same. Rows and rows and miles and miles of development. When I first started going down there years ago I always told myself, “I can’t believe this beautiful coastline is still undeveloped” and now I wish that it wasn’t.

ParticipantCan you please recommend some good plans for someone wanting to go contractor?
Marry a spouse who has a job with insurance. 🙂
In all seriousness, I was able to get Cobra. It was basically an extension of my ex-employers insurance after I went contractor. I believe it lasted for 18 months. Don’t know what I would have done without my spouse.
