ParticipantI understand the the purpose of these Tea Parties is to evoke the historical significance of the Boston Tea Party, but wouldn’t it be more representative of modern times to have a High Fructose Corn Syrup Party instead?

I’ve only ever taken the Catalina Express from Dana Point: http://www.catalinaexpress.com/
I agree with 4plex that it’s a quick escape — not much to do there. But it’s got a natural beauty and some history to it that makes it an interesting weekend trip. It’s something “different” than most SoCal adventures. To be honest, it felt like a sloooooowww retirement community to me, but sometimes that’s the point. The submarine boat trip around the kelp forests and garibaldi made the whole trip worth it for me — like scuba diving without having to get wet.
